About Us
The Derbyshire Craft Collective is an online retail platform dedicated to showcasing and selling handmade and locally produced goods from talented makers across Derbyshire.
Our Mission
To support local artisans by providing a professional sales platform, marketing support, and access to a wider customer base through our online store.
Why Join the Collective?
Selling online can be time consuming and difficult to grow alone. The Derbyshire Craft Collective handles many of the challenges so you can focus on creating. As a member of the collective you benefit from:
A professionally managed Etsy store
Shared marketing and promotion
Professional product photography
Access to customers across the UK
Brand exposure for your maker business
Inclusion in curated gift collections
Opportunities for seasonal product launches
We promote both the products and the makers behind them.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking high-quality makers based in Derbyshire who produce unique, handmade or locally produced goods.
Examples include:
Candles
Soap and skincare
Jewellery
Pottery and ceramics
Woodcraft
Textiles and fabric goods
Art prints and illustrations
Home décor
Handmade gifts
Products should be:
Handmade or locally produced
High quality and well finished
Suitable for postal delivery
Produced in small batch or scalable quantities
How It Works
1. You supply your products to the collective.
2. We photograph, list and market the products through our online store.
3. When your item sells, we process the order and ship it to the customer.
4. You receive payment according to the agreed commission structure.
This allows you to focus on making while we focus on selling.
Commission Structure
The collective operates on a commission basis.
Typical structure:
The maker receives: 50–70% of retail price and the collective retains: 30–50% to cover:
Etsy fees
Marketing
Packaging
Payment processing
Business overhead
Stock & Restocking
Makers provide stock quantities agreed in advance
If items sell well, we will request restocks
Unsold stock may be returned after an agreed period
Our aim is to maintain a fresh and exciting product selection for customers.
Product Standards
To maintain the reputation of the collective, all products must:
Be safely produced and legally compliant in the UK
Meet high quality standards
Be accurately described and labelled where required
Marketing & Promotion
The Derbyshire Craft Collective actively promotes products through:
Etsy search optimisation
Social media
Seasonal collections
Gift bundles and curated boxes
Local partnerships and events
Maker Spotlight
We highlight the story of each maker, giving customers a connection to the person behind the craft.
Customers love to know:
Who made the product
Where it was created
